It seems like that there a lot of people using 4K cameras and uploading there footage to YouTube. Gone are the days where 1080p is the highest resolution which people can view. Not to long ago 4K was something that only avid film makers could film with, with there expensive cameras and lenses. Now, pretty much anyone can shoot in 4K and upload it. With the release of the latest iPhone 6s & iPhone 6s Plus 4K can be shot by anyone. There are plenty of other smartphones which have introduced 4K settings. GoPro cameras have also introduced 4K in the past which means that pretty much any moment can now be caught in 4K.

Now you might be wondering; what is 4K?

4K refers to a display device or content having horizontal resolution on the order of 4,000 pixels. The 4K resolution standard is defined as 4096 x 2160 pixels.

As a quick test of the quality I recently attended the 2015 San-Ei Australian Veterans Table Tennis Championships where I gave my brand new iPhone 6s a go at shooting in 4K. I then bought it into Premiere Pro and edited it. It's only a short clip, but you can watch it it 4K!

Check it out below;

Hope you enjoyed.

Thanks for reading!
