ABOUT
JACOB SHANNON was born in Canberra. He moved to the Sunshine Coast in late 2004 with his family where he continued his schooling. After forming many new friendships in primary school he began high school at St John's College, Nambour. Jacob soon became interested in graphics and technical drawings. Jacob also learnt alot from his teachers and peers throughout school.
He graduated grade 12 at the end of 2012. Jacob was accepted into QUT (Queensland University Technology) to study Landscape Architecture in 2013, but soon decided to defer for a later time. He then began studying a Diploma of Building Design in 2013 at the then Sunshine Coast Institute of TAFE (now TAFE Queensland - East Coast). He graduated at the end of 2014.
Jacob enjoys building design as well as technical drawings. He enjoys working with different shapes in his design, exploring curvature and straight lines. He is generous in his time, listens carefully to others and clearly articulates his thoughts and reasoning behind his designs.
Jacob has been very lucky to be congratulated on his successes as a TAFE and high school student winning multiple awards, such as;
- BDAQ Student Design Award Joint-Winner 2014
- Year 12 Graphics Subject Award Winner 2012
- Year 11 Graphics Subject Award Winner 2011
His dreams for the future include traveling, further study as well as one day perhaps opening his own design practice.
Jacob currently works full time Ace Space Design on the Sunshine Coast, Queensland. He also tutors casually at TAFE Queensland - East Coast Nambour, Sunshine Coast with students studying Building Design and Interior Design.
